OpenAI's ChatGPT release notes for 20 October 2026 add ChatGPT Slides. You start from a conversation, files, or an outline, or share an example deck to set the style. You can edit text, images, shapes, and charts yourself, or ask ChatGPT to change them, and you can generate images or add your own.
Teammates can edit the same deck at the same time and leave comments. You can present from ChatGPT. On the web, export goes to PowerPoint, PDF, or Google Slides. In the desktop app, the deck can open in PowerPoint or Keynote when those apps are installed. Slides is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business, and Enterprise users who have Space, on the web and in the desktop app. The notes say to ask ChatGPT in Work to create a presentation in Space.
Who it's for: a team that already works in ChatGPT and wants the deck in the same place as the brief.
Fits: Best for Writing stays Claude for a long draft. Slides is a presentation surface for paid ChatGPT workspaces. The writing verdict is unchanged.
