OpenAI's release notes for 15 October 2026 say GPT-Live-1.1 and GPT-Live-1.1 Quip, a mini version, are rolling out in ChatGPT Voice. OpenAI says accents are more natural across languages, and that Live uses a wider range of short phrases while it is searching. New voices cover French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Mexican Spanish, plus Bubbie in English. Which voices appear depends on the region and the account. You pick one in Settings, then Voice.
Who it's for: people using ChatGPT Voice. It is a speech update, not a new writing or coding model.
Fits: the voice side of ChatGPT. The writing and coding ranks stay where they are.
