Claude Personal Finance connects read-only bank accounts

A US beta on Pro, Max, and Ultra lets Claude read balances and transactions through Plaid. It cannot move, manage, or invest money.

Anthropic's 5 November 2026 post introduces Personal Finance in Claude. You connect bank and card accounts and ask about your own balances and transactions. Access is read-only. Personal Finance cannot move, manage, or invest money, and Anthropic says it is not designed to give investment advice. The beta starts rolling out this week on Pro, Max, and Ultra in the US.

You sign in at your bank through Plaid and approve read-only access there. Claude does not ask for or see the bank password. For the accounts you choose, Claude can see the bank's name, each account's name, type, and last four digits, balances and credit limits, and up to two years of transactions. Chats in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train Anthropic's models. Chats outside the hub follow your existing privacy settings. You can unlink an account. Anthropic says Claude can be wrong, and that important figures should be checked with the bank.

Who it's for: a Pro, Max, or Ultra subscriber in the US who wants a plain-language read of accounts they connect, and who will still check the bank.

Fits: Best for Writing stays Claude for a draft that has to sound like a person. A finance hub is a separate surface. The writing guide and the Claude alternatives are unchanged. The verdict is unchanged.
