Auphonic vs Cleanvoice

Which AI tool should I use? Three questions, then a pick from the ranked lists.

Auphonic and Cleanvoice meet when a recorded file is noisy and the person searching has not decided whether they want a finished sound or a timeline they can reopen. Both clean speech. They do not hand you the same thing at the end. One is a post-production pass for noise, level, and loudness. The other is a cleanup whose export is a project another editor can see. On Best for Podcast Editing Auphonic is third and Cleanvoice is fourth. Descript is first, for an episode you edit as a document. Riverside is second, for a session you still have to record. This page is the two cleanup tools. It is not the edit, and it is not the recording.

The verdict: open Auphonic (opens in a new tab) when the edit is done and the file still sounds like the room. Open Cleanvoice (opens in a new tab) when another editor has to see the cuts. This site records a free tier for Auphonic and no price for Cleanvoice. This guide does not quote an hour figure or a minute count. Read Auphonic's pricing page (opens in a new tab) for the current allowance. Cleanvoice's homepage offers a try without a card. That is not stored as a free plan.

The edit against the loudness pass is Descript vs Auphonic. The edit against the timeline is Descript vs Cleanvoice. Riverside against Auphonic is Auphonic vs Riverside. The page that starts from Auphonic is Auphonic alternatives. The page that starts from Cleanvoice is Cleanvoice alternatives. The four-tool walk is Best AI podcast editor.

Auphonic, when the story is already the story

Auphonic is third. The tagline is audio post-production for noise, level, and loudness. The company's line is an AI sound engineer for podcasts, education, videos, audiobooks, radio, and broadcasts. Noise and reverb reduction, a leveler, loudness targets, and cuts for filler words, coughs, and silence are the product. Rearranging who said what is not. That is a finishing bench, not a timeline another editor reopens.

Auphonic's site is auphonic.com (opens in a new tab). The pricing page states that Auphonic is free for a monthly amount of processed audio and shows an Auphonic Free plan. This guide does not copy the hour figure. A free plan is recorded. Productions from free users can include a jingle, which the pricing page says in plain text. If a jingle on the export is unacceptable, read that page before you treat the free plan as the master you will upload.

Use Auphonic at the end. Export the cut from wherever the story was decided, and let the leveler and the loudness spec do the last pass. Leave it when the point of the cleanup is that another person will reopen the cuts. That is Cleanvoice.

Cleanvoice, when the cuts have to stay visible

Cleanvoice is fourth. The tagline is cleanup for filler words, noise, and mouth sounds. Open it for the mess inside a take: filler words, long pauses, background noise, mouth sounds, and breaths. A cleaned file can come back as a timeline you finish in another editor. It is a cleanup pass, not where you rebuild the episode. It overlaps Auphonic's cleanup and does not replace a loudness target or a transcript edit. It does not record the remote session Riverside is ranked for.

Cleanvoice's site is cleanvoice.ai (opens in a new tab). No price is recorded. The homepage offers a try without a card. That is not stored as a free plan. Do not treat that offer as the free tier Auphonic has on this site. This page does not invent a quality score for which cleanup sounds better. The list did not run that test. The difference it does store is the artifact: a processed file with level and loudness, or a timeline of the deletions.

Use Cleanvoice when the next person needs the project, not only the bounced file. Use Auphonic when the story is locked and the remaining failure is the room, the level, or a loudness spec. A timeline will not set that spec. A leveler will not show another editor which breaths you removed.

What this pair is not

Descript is still first if the episode needs structural editing. Do not skip it and hope either cleanup will also delete a ten-minute tangent you simply no longer want. Delete a word there and that moment goes with it. A free plan is recorded from descript.com/pricing (opens in a new tab). Riverside is second because the guests are still on the calendar. If you do not have a file yet, you are not choosing between Auphonic and Cleanvoice. No price is recorded for Riverside. The four rows are four sentences. This page is the two that both clean a take.

Which sentence you are in

"The cut is done and it still sounds like the room" is Auphonic. "Hand me a timeline of the deletions" is Cleanvoice. "I need to cut the interview by reading it" is Descript. "I have not recorded yet" is Riverside. You can clean a file and still be in the wrong rank if the story is the problem. The list is Best for Podcast Editing.
